Collect data using Cloudamize agent-based or agentless methods, and send the data to Azure Migrate for further analysis.

 

 

  1. Login to Azure portal here. Search for Azure Migrate.

  2. On the Azure Migrate portal, click on Assess and migrate servers.

  3. Click on Add tools.

  4. Select the Microsoft subscription from the Subscription drop down and select an existing resource group from Resource group drop down. If there are no existing resource groups, create a new resource group by clicking Create new. Select the Project for migration and the appropriate Geography.

  5. When creating a new Resource group, Enter the name and click on Ok.

  6. Review the tool details and click on Next.

  7. In the Select assessment tool tab Select Cloudamize: Cloud Assessment as the tool. Click on Next.

  8. In the Select migration solution tab, leave the checkbox Skip adding a migration solution for now checked  and click on Next.

  9. Click on Add tool in the Review+ Add tool(s) tab.Picture9.pngImage Removed

  10. The Servers tab will display the Cloudamize Assessment tool. If it is not populating, refresh the page as the Assessment tool creation might take a few seconds.

  11. The Migration project can be changed at any time by clicking change. Machine data will be populated in this screen once uploaded from Cloudamize portal.

  13. Click on Settings link displayed under the name on dashboard page.

  16. Enter Account name, Tenant ID, Client ID, Client key and select offer ID obtained from Azure portal. Click on Save.

  23. Select the subscription and resource group for which solution is created in Azure portal from the drop downs Subscription Name, Resource Group, select the design which has the machines you want to migrate from Select a Design and click on Save.

  24. All the machines that are assessed are populated in the grid. You can still change the Design and data will populated accordingly.

  25. Once you finalize the design, Read and check the box to agree Terms and conditions. Select the machines and click on Sync to upload the data to Azure portal.

  26. Confirm the same by clicking Continue button in the pop up to proceed.

  27. Wait for the page to reload as it updated the status of the machines.

  28. Verify the status and sync date for the machines that are selected to upload. The status will change from Not uploaded to Uploaded if the upload is successful.

  29. The status will show Error: Payload is not in the expected format. if any of the mandatory values are missing for the machine and upload is unsuccessful.

  30. Go to Azure portal and click refresh on Servers tab. Successfully uploaded Numbers will be populated against Discovered and Assessed servers. Click on Discovered servers to view the machine details.

  31. Machines will be populated under other solutions.
