Migration Portfolio Assessment (MPA) Export
Overview-
The detailed portfolio assessment as well as migration planning can be done online using Migration Portfolio Assessment (MPA). The data can be imported in MPA with a web-based data ingestion process.MPA offers extensive configurability and enables experienced consultants to model customers’ scenarios and generate data for business case analysis and migration planning.
Use case :
The use case of this feature is to export infrastructure assets and dependency details in excels sheets which has all the column the AWS MPA tool is looking for and can be ingested in the system. The file contains all the data required to import and map to the respective columns.
User Journey :
Customers can export the MPA report by following the steps
The customers register to the Cloudamize (CMZ) Platform. Install the agents and run the assessment.
Login to the CMZ platform (https://console.cloudamize.com/)
Select AWS assessment,Navigate to Report section , Migration Portfolio Assessment (MPA) Export ‘Download Report’, option is available.
MPA report will be downloaded for selected plan from left hand panel (by default Workload On Demand plan is selected )
As Migration Portfolio Assessment (MPA) Export is AWS specific feature , hence MPA export is available only for AWS assessments.
MPA export is plan dependent and change in plan from left hand panel, will change the exported report data.
In database details sheets, recommended target RDS offering, ‘target instance’ and ‘deployment engine’ are specific to RDS plan/design. Hence to get those details, prerequisite is to select a plan with RDS recommendation option enabled .
Details like Business Unit, Business Owner, Business Owner Email, Business Owner Phone etc which CMZ agents either do not collect or NA for data collection will not be exported and complete column in excel will be exported as blank.
As CMZ do not maintain the installed database to its running application mapping hence database to application sheet does not contain any data and ''No data to show.” message will be shown.
Customer should not manipulate the Server Id , Application Id, and Database Id values in any of the excel sheet. Doing this, will corrupt the data and MPA will not be able to identify correct dependencies
